Why New in Seville?

 

how everything began…

 

Once upon a time….there was a girl, coming back to Seville for love. Now there she was with her boyfriend, one year after her ERASMUS time. And this time of Erasmus parties”, dancing and drinking somehow was over. She was looking for more constant friendships, new contacts, true amigos to spend time together and create a social community of mutual support and caring for each other.

That was me. Joanna, 23 years old founding the facebook group “New in Seville – Nuevo en Sevilla“. Simply because in facebook there was nothing comparable at that moment.

 

International meet-up’s since 2014 in Seville

 

At the beginning the New in Seville – meet up’s took place in Triana (at the rooftop of our indian friend “Golok”). Usually the number of participants was from 10 to 30. They were from all over the world, foreigners and locals. A colorful mix of people, having one thing in common: living in Seville and enjoying the city together.

From time to time, first friendships were built and smaller groups made up trips together and spend time also apart from the New in Seville group meetings. Perfect! That was exactly the idea behind this initiative.

When the restaurant has been closed we changed several times the location of the meetings. But haven’t found a new “home” for our meet up’s yet. After a longer break (due to my travels and other projects I lead) we are getting back in 2018 to make a monthly meeting and create some nice activities together!

 

New in Seville – community

 

New in Seville is community, connection and fun. A place where you can build community and make friends. The meetings getting bigger every time and through the Whats App group there are popping up smaller reunions like dinner, cinema visit or beach trips.
